2009年博士毕业于中国科学院计算技术研究所,2011年于清华大学自动化系博士后出站,2011-2013年于北京数码视讯战略研究院任首席科学家,2013年起在华中科技大学开展工作,2015年入选华中科技大学“学术新人”、湖北省“楚天学者”,2018年当选英国工程技术学会会士(IET Fellow),2025年入选“海尔教授”、美国光学学会会士(Optica Fellow)。主要从事以计算成像、具身智能、图像智能处理等方面的研究,以及在灾害态势感知、交互式媒体系统、具身智能系统等方面的应用研究工作,主持和参与国家重点研发计划、国家自然科学基金、中国科协智库、湖北省重点研发计划、湖北省体育局、武汉市卫健委、企业重点科技攻关等项目30余项。在IJCV、IEEE TIP等国内外重要的期刊、ICCV、IJCAI等会议上发表学术论文160篇,发明专利142项(其中授权中国专利56项,PCT专利22项,美25项)。获教育部技术发明一等奖、中国科技产业化促进会创新人物卓越贡献奖(一等)、中国轻工联合会科技进步一等奖等在内的省部级和国际科技奖12项,指导学生获中国国际大学生创新创业(原“互联网+”)竞赛全国金奖、挑战杯主赛道全国金奖在内的教育部A类赛事奖4项,获湖北省研究生教学成果特等奖、全国卓越工程师培养改革优秀案例在内的省部级教学成果奖5项。
